SUGAROPOLIS
Unreal Engine | University | 2017
A walking-sim focusing on educating students on Scotland’s role in the sugar trade. Our clients for this game is the research team for the Sugaropolis: Transnational Foodways and Dietary Change in Scotland project.
What I did
-producer for a team of 8, managing the team and liasing with the clients
-primary implementer of content in Unreal Engine, such as setting up items for the Item Viewer
-level design for the two levels: Overseer’s Office and Sugar Cane Field
-created the collectibles mini-game (collecting Soor Plooms) in addition to implementing the quiz system
-UI design for the Item Viewer, collectibles, etc
This was the team project in my penultimate year at university which spanned the two semesters. My initial role was a producer but for the second semester I also took on a more active role in implementation and design.
